January 11, 3 – 5 p.m. – Bloomingdale’s at the Aventura Mall – B’Kids, level 3, 1955 Biscayne Blvd.
‘Safer, Smarter Families’ interactive safety education stations will include:
- Grown-Up Buddies – Help your child identify three or more trusted adults in their lives, to whom they can tell anything – from a fight with a friend, to a bad dream, or a touch that doesn’t feel quite right – with the Trusted Triangle and Grown Up Buddy activity.
- Cyber & Real World Safety – Whether in the real world or online, it’s important to develop a P.L.A.N. – Permission (from an adult to use an internet device, or participate in an activity), Location (the child must share exactly where they’ll be, whether it’s a physical address or an online website, app or game), Activity (what activity will your child be doing at the park, friend’s house, or online?), Names and numbers (children should provide names and phone numbers or online identifiers to parents, and be sure to keep personal information off the Internet) – to help your child stay safe!

- Child ID card – Arm your family and law enforcement with crucial identifying information in critical situations by creating an ID card for your child, as recommended by the FBI.
