Striking Out Child Abuse

Since 2013, Lauren’s Kids and the New York Yankees Foundation have partnered to Strike Out Child Abuse in the Bronx borough of New York City. Thanks to the generous support of the Yankees Foundation, Lauren’s Kids has provided our Safer, Smarter Schools curriculum to local elementary schools, hosted an annual advocacy walk with more than 1,000 students through the streets of the Bronx, and raised awareness among Yankees fans and ballpark attendees.

“Using this curriculum has completely shifted the way we perceive and respond to threats against children,” says Principal Luis Torres from C.S. 55. “By using the Safer, Smarter Schools curriculum our educators, families and students have a comprehensive way to recognize the signs of abuse, so they can prevent and report unsafe situations. We are incredibly grateful to Lauren’s Kids for developing this invaluable resource.”
