Chris Brown’s tattoo of beaten woman unacceptable, glamorizes violence

Apparently an assault charge, five years probation and working with domestic violence prevention and intervention programs has not been enough to impose upon Chris Brown the gravity of his actions.

As a survivor of sexual abuse and violence, Brown’s newest tattoo, an image of a brutally beaten woman, gives me chills.

Violence against anyone is absolutely unacceptable, and should NEVER be celebrated or used as a fashion statement. Shame on you, Chris Brown. Your cavalier attitude towards females, violence and victims of abuse is despicable and sends the WRONG message to your millions of fans.

Please, join me in expressing your disapproval of this glamorization of violence by boycotting Chris Brown’s music and sharing this post.

Update: “His tattoo is a sugar skull (associated with the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead) and a MAC cosmetics design he saw,” Brown’s rep told TMZ. “It is not Rihanna or an abused woman as erroneously reported.”
