April is both National Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and National Child Abuse Prevention Month. When we started Lauren’s Kids 15 years ago, our mission was clear – to prevent child abuse through education and awareness, and help survivors heal with guidance and support… but never could we have imagined the powerful army we’d build. This April, join Lauren’s Kids as we reflect upon the last 15 years, honor the 42 million survivors of child sexual abuse living in the U.S. today, and recommit to Keep Shining Light – together.

APPETITE FOR GIVING

APRIL 2023 – SOUTH FLORIDA

Appetite for Giving is a month-long food and fundraising campaign held through the entire month of April 2023 in Miami- Dade and Broward Counties. Participating restaurants have joined in the fight to prevent child sexual abuse by collecting voluntary donations when patrons pay the check.

42 HOURS

APRIL 25- 27, 2023 – TALLAHASSEE/FLORIDA CAPITOL

Since 2019, advocates, legislators, state leaders, survivors, and community members have joined Senator Lauren Book and the Lauren’s Kids foundation to walk for 42+ continuous hours in the rotunda of the Florida Capitol, in honor of the 42 million survivors of childhood sexual abuse living in the U.S. today and to advocate for societal and legislative change.
