For the past 10 years, Sen. Lauren Book, D-Broward, has been walking to spread awareness about childhood sexual abuse.
“I’m a survivor of childhood sexual abuse from the time that I was 11 until 16, and I started walking from the home that I was sexually abused in to Tallahassee where I knew that true change takes place,” she said Tuesday.
This year is a little different.
Instead of walking 1,500 miles from Key West to Tallahassee, Book brought a treadmill to the Capitol and put in her paces in the Rotunda.
