Senate tackles sexual predators: The Senate Criminal Justice Committee will take up three bills aimed at strengthening laws dealing with sexual predators and sexual crimes against children. One of the bills, SB 494 by Majority Leader Lizbeth Benacquisto would eliminate a statute of limitations on prosecuting lewd or lascivious offenses involving children. A second bill (SB 526), by Sen. Rob Bradley would strengthen penalties against sex offenders.
