This year has been anything but normal, especially for children actually experiencing or at risk for abuse. Lauren’s Kids works everyday to prevent child sexual abuse through education and awareness, and to help survivors heal with guidance and support. While this mission has always been important, with the FBI warning about incidents of abuse spiking during stress of COVID-19, our mission has never been more critical.
For those whose home is a prison instead of a sanctuary, the last 6 months have been unbearable. Since the onset of COVID-19, Lauren’s Kids has worked diligently to provide safety tips and tools for families navigating what we are now calling a “new normal”, support schools in remote learning, and provide critical resources for children’s advocacy centers responding to increases in abuse.
Now you can help, too. GIVE MIAMI DAY, sponsored by the Miami Foundation, is ONLY 2 WEEKS AWAY and is the perfect time to show your support for the Lauren’s Kids mission and SHOW UP for children of abuse. Additionally, for the first time ever, Give Miami Day is extending it’s day of giving to include early giving starting on November 16th and a POWER HOUR from 11 a.m. – 12 noon on November 19.
